The Harry Simmons Residence consists of 140 Single Room Occupancy (SRO) beds. This facility houses New Beginnings, the Aurora MICA Program, FNS, the Hudson Program, and individuals from the community. Funds provided by the NYS Office of Mental Health (OMH) have allowed for extensive improvements to the MICA (Mentally Ill Chemical Abusers) program areas, as well as the common areas of the building. Improvements were completed in the Spring of 2007. Heritage also received a grant from the NYC Landmarks Commission for work on the portico and entrance to the building. Funding from HPD's Article 8A Loan program have allowed for the installation of a new heating system, new roof, and needed facade improvements.
